Youth participating in the auction at the Jefferson County Fair have the option to apply for the Animal Auction Grant. This grant is designed to provide support for Jefferson County Fair animal exhibitors interested in further
enhancing/advancing their Fair participation in one of the respective animal projects (Beef, Dairy, Sheep, Goat, Swine, Poultry, Rabbits) at the current year’s Fair. Funds for these grants result from proceeds raised during
the Silent Auction at the Animal Auction of the previous year.
Requirements:
- Applicant must be at least 8 years of age as of January 1st of the current Fair year
- Exhibitor must be showing an animal (beef, dairy, sheep, goat, swine, poultry, or rabbits) and planning on participating in the auction during at the time of application
- Recipients must attend the award ceremony held during Herdsmanship meeting on Sunday at 3pm
- Recipients must complete a post-fair survey explaining how they utilized the funds
Applications Close on June 1st
Make sure you apply before the deadline to be eligible for the program! A committee will be reviewing the applications shortly after.
Selection Process
- A committee will be assembled to review each application and select winners
- All applicants will be contacted to let them know the results
- Certificates will be presented at the 3pm Herdsmanship Meeting in the MAP on Sunday of Fair.
